Over the years we’ve grown into a generation of self cautious people in terms of our appearance, and one of the contributing factors being achieving healthy, youthful skin amongst others. With this being said its quite important to acknowledge that perfect skin doesn’t exist but achieving nearly flawless skin is very attainable.

Therefore due to popular demand in terms of what products i use to achieve healthy looking skin, I’ve decided to share the “secret”. I do want to add that 90% of the products i use are from The Body Shop, reason being that their products are natural and cruelty free, this of which speaks volumes for myself and should for you as well, if you really know whats good for you. I mean who wants to be using products that aren’t natural and besides that we should be against animal cruelty.

My daily routine is divided into two main parts, a day routine as well as a night routine.

DAY ROUTINE

1. WASH/CLEANSE

i) ELECTRIC HYDRO CLEANSER

1.jpg

In terms of washing my face, i always use this hydro facial cleanser of which is quite effective as it washes away much more unwanted dirt than just washing your face with your finger tips or a face cloth. The cleanser has three brushes, one for daily cleansing, another cleanser brush with softer silicon bristles, for those who have quite irritable and sensitive skin and one for exfoliating. Keep in mind that exfoliating is very important but ill get to that later on. The brush also has two rotation settings, one in clockwise and another in anticlockwise motions of which is an added bonus.

ii) DROPS OF LIGHT: CLEANSING FOAM

2.jpg

This helps with discoloration of the skin caused by acne scars, sun burn etc. Add a walnut size amount and smear it on your wet face before working the electric hydro cleanser into your face. Try not to brush longer than 10 seconds in core areas of your face (forehead, cheeks etc) as over cleansing strips your skin off of its natural oils.

TIP: Wash your face with lukewarm water to open your pores and rinse with nearly cold water to close them up again. Avoid washing with hot water as this drys out your skin and causes irritation.

2. TONE

i) CLARIFYING CHINESE GINSENG & RICE TONER

3

Apply a generous amount on a cotton pad and smear it gently all over your face. This product essentially helps with getting rid of excess grime and dirt. If you have sensitive skin, it would be best to dilute the product by 2 parts water and 1 parts toner to avoid irritation.

ii) DROPS OF LIGHT: BRIGHTENING SERUM

8.jpg

This serum works hand in hand with the foam wash i mentioned earlier in which it reveals your skins natural glow and maintains it through out continued use. So more gorgeous selfies in the sun.

3. MOISTURIZE

i) TEA TREE OIL

4.jpgBefore i even applying any cream, i usually apply tea tree oil. This helps with preventing any unwanted acne/pimples. You can either apply it with a cotton pad just like a toner or pour a few drops on your face and rub it in gently as i would do.

ii) VITAMIN E: MOISTURE CREAM

5.jpg

Vitamin E is such a important vitamin for your skin as it works as an antioxidant and promotes the banishing of unwanted blemishes. Same rules apply with this product, apply a walnut sized amount on your face.

iii) SKIN DEFENSE

6

This product acts as a sunscreen but at the same time considers the other products applied on your face to work in unity. Its quite important not to skip this step as tea tree oil and vitamin e make your skin quite susceptible to the suns rays. So always use sunscreen.

NIGHT ROUTINE

  • In this part, my routine is quite similar to my day routine, expect i leave out certain products. The only products i use in this routine is the Drops of Light: Cleansing Foam (with the Hydro Cleansing Brush) , as well as Tea Tree Oil, followed by the Vitamin E: Overnight Serum in Oil below.

i) VITAMIN E: OVERNIGHT SERUM IN OIL

7.jpg

This product is quite important because it revitalizes your skin with moisture of which leaves it looking refreshed and well rested the next morning. An added bonus is that this product acts as a two in one (serum and oil).

EXTRA

1. EXFOLIATING

i) TEA TREE SCRUB

9.jpg

This product helps obviously with removing dead skin cells but also with the prevention of acne/pimples. I usually use this product along with the electric hydro brush with the exfoliating brush attachment.

ii) PURE RESURFACING LIQUID PEEL

10.jpg

This product is quite different to the tea tree scrub, in which it yes, does remove dead skin cells but also helps brighten your face naturally, preventing it from looking dull. This is the only exception when it comes to using your hands, because essentially the aim is to rub it in your face in circular motion until it peels.

TIP: Use either product once/twice a week. Alternate between the two products to see steady results.

2. MASK

i) TEA TREE MASK

11.jpg

Apply a generous amount on a wet cleansed face and leave in for 15 to 20 minutes, followed by rinsing it off with lukewarm water. This product aims at deeply cleansing your face as well as combating a blemished complexion and promoting clearer skin.

TIP: Use a face mask at least once a week to obtain maximum results

3. ON-THE-GO

i) YOUNG SOLUTION: SPOT ELIMINATING DROPS

12.jpg

Ever had an event you had to attend the next day but there’s an overwhelmingly visible pimple/zit that you need to get rid of fast. Well this product works wonders. You practically just apply 3-5 drops through out the day on the zit/pimple and in a matter of hours you’ll have one less problem.

One last thing, ever heard how people emphasize how you should drink plenty of water? Listen to them. Think of it this way, your body is a sponge and if it doesn’t absorb necessary amounts of water you won’t look as well nourished as you should be. Another factor that should be considered is your diet, try to decrease your sugar and salt intake and if you’re willing to go the extra mile, cut down on meat intake. After all you are what you eat. One last thing is that believe it or not but stress also contributes to the appearance of your skin, speaking from experience, so try research on different types of coping mechanisms to lower your stress levels.

I really hope this helps you as much as it has helped me. Feel free to ask me any additional questions on either my Instagram ( http://www.instagram.com/lethabosix/ ) or Twitter ( http://www.twitter.com/lethabosix/ ) dm’s.
